Maruti Suzuki India Limited has announced the launch of the S-CNG version of its new SUV Fronx in India. It comes in two variants – Sigma and Delta. They are priced at Rs 8.42 lakh and Rs 9.28 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively. The car will be sold through the company’s premium retail channel Nexa.

Maruti Suzuki also has an option to purchase the Fronx S-CNG with a monthly subscription plan. The car can be owned for a minimum of Rs 23,248 per month. It comes with a 5-speed manual transmission in a number of attractive color options. The eco-friendly vehicle comes with dual front airbags, reverse parking sensors, Smart Play Pro infotainment system and other features.
The CNG version of the Fronx is available with a 1.2-litre K-series dualjet, dual VVT engine to provide the go-go power. In CNG mode it produces 77.5 PS of power at 6,000 rpm and 98.5 Nm of torque at 4,300 rpm. As the latest model in the company’s portfolio, the Fronx S-CNG will deliver the highest mileage. It will run 28.51 km on one kg of fuel.
Speaking about the introduction of Fronx S-CNG, the company’s Chief Executive Officer (Sales & Marketing) Shashank Srivastava said, “The latest generation Fronx S-CNG with extensive road presence is aimed at those buyers who value styling as well as keeping the environment fresh. After its debut at the Auto Expo this year, the Fronx has received a great response so far. It has a sporty design, advanced powertrain and premium technology.”
Srivastava added, “We first launched the CNG model in 2010. Since then, we have sold more than 1.4 million S-CNG models. Which bears witness to the trust and faith of our customers towards our technology. We are confident that Fronx S-CNG will increase our market share in the CNG market. We currently have 15 CNG models in our portfolio, which are the best in the country.”
