Mukesh Ambani’s Telecom Company launches JioMeet, its video conferencing app with little fanfare on Thursday night. The App is available on the Play Store and App Store. After raising investments from a lot of companies, Reliance Jio has released its first product and for sure it will give tough competition to Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, and other popular video conferencing tools.
JioMeet Features
JioMeet supports direct calls (1 to 1 calling) and can also host meetings with up to 100 participants. You can sign up with your mobile number or email ID, and the meetings support HD quality, not full HD quality. According to Reliance Jio, Free calls are uninterrupted for up to 24 hours long and the app offers enterprise-grade host controls. The app is free to use and you can create unlimited meetings per day, and the meetings can also be password protected and support a waiting room like Zoom.
JioMeet can also be accessed through Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox for users working on desktop apart from Android and iOS phones. There are no codes or invites needed for the call to begin. For those who are joining from the desktop version of the app, click on JioMeet invite link and join from your browser without downloading the application. The app includes sharing the screen with each other and more.

Security and Reliability
On its official website, the company claims all the meetings are “encrypted” but don’t provide details if this is end-to-end encryption or else. JioMeet is ready to take on other popular video conferencing platforms such as Zoom and Google Meet.
Currently, JioMeet has been rated 4.8 on the App store and 4.6 on the Google Play store. The app has already been downloaded by 100k Android users.
