Currently, Hero MotoCorp is working on several motorcycles, which will soon be launched in the Indian market. Meanwhile, the company has been releasing teasers of the 2023 Xtreme 160R on their social media pages for the past few days. This naked bike is being launched tomorrow with several updates. Let’s get to know the Hero Xtreme 160R in detail.
2023 Hero Xtreme 160R: New engine
Hero MotoCorp has confirmed that the 2023 Xtreme 160R will feature a four valve head engine. It means that the performance will be better than before. The current model has a 163 cc two valve head engine. It produces 15 bhp of power at 8,500 rpm and 14 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. As before, the new model will come with a 5-speed gearbox.
2023 Hero Xtreme 160R: Upgraded suspension hardware
The current Hero Xtreme 160R features a telescopic front fork. But the 2023 model has an upside-down or USD fork. The front wheel shake will be felt relatively less. However, there is no change in the rear suspension. As before, the bike will come with a rear monoshock pre-load adjustable unit.
2023 Hero Xtreme 160R: No change in braking setup
The new Hero Xtreme 160R is expected to remain unchanged. As before, the bike will come with single channel ABS and a 276 mm petal front disc. It is currently sold with the option of a 130mm drum brake and a 220mm petal disc brake at the rear. However, the company is yet to confirm whether it will offer dual channel ABS and drum brakes.
2023 Hero Xtreme 160R: Price & Rivals
The price of the new Hero Xtreme 160R may increase by Rs 5,000 to Rs 6,000. The motorcycle is currently priced between Rs 1.19 lakh and Rs 1.30 lakh (ex-showroom). It will compete against Bajaj Pulsar N160 and TVS Apache RTR 160 4V.
